Phonics
Over the year we follow our own bespoke school scheme based on Letters and Sounds. This starts with Phase 2 and 3 -the phonemes (sounds) and graphemes (letters) of the alphabet, plus digraphs (2 letters together that make one sound e.g. 'ee') and trigraphs (3 letters together that make one sound e.g. 'igh'). There are 44 in total! Phase 4 covers further combinations of letters.
