Mrs Ayed-Phase Leader and Reception Teacher

Hi everyone! I have taught in primary schools in Leeds, York and  Selby over the last 20 years, with my specialism in Early Years Education. This is my ninth year here at Barwic Parade! I always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember- I especially love the awe and wonder of working with young children and making learning magical. As a child, I fell in love with Enid Blyton’s collection of magical adventures in ‘The Faraway Tree’ and I still love reading this to my class to this day!

I am a mum of two and  I also have three  granddaughters aged 13, 7 and 17 months old,  who keep me up to date and on my toes! I love nature and particularly the moon and stars. In my spare time I prefer to be outside whenever possible. I also enjoy different languages and cultures. I speak French, Spanish, German, some Arabic and I am learning conversational Italian. :) 

Mrs Waring-Teaching Assistant

Hi, I’m Mrs Waring and I am lucky enough to be a teaching assistant working in Early Years and KS1. I’ve worked at Barwic Parade for seven years now, in both Reception and Year One.  I  have two children aged 16 and 12 who both once came to our school too.

We have a family guinea pig and I especially love singing, musicals, theatre, spending time with my family and going on holiday to the beach together :) 

I love working in Early Years, watching the children thrive and learn new things through their wealth and breadth of experiences so quickly never ceases to  amaze me!  We are all constantly  learning from our children too - as every child is unique!
