Outdoor play

"Not all classrooms have four walls"

-Steve Whewell

Our outdoor environment provides our children with endless, open ended learning opportunities. We have adopted the 'big, heavy and awkward' approach, which enables the children to build complex, large-scale structures. The children love to challenge themselves and engage in healthy risk taking. Together we build obstacle courses, castles, bridges, vehicles and many more magical constructions!

The great outdoors also offers the children with extensive space where they can run and use their bodies in many different ways. We also have lots of fast bikes which the children use to develop their gross motor development, coordination and spacial awareness. The fast bikes also provide the children with lots of play opportunities. You can often find delivery drivers, taxi drivers, truckers and farmers racing around the playground at Barwic Parade!
