🌍 Barwic Globetrotters – Exploring the World Together

At Barwic Parade, we’re passionate about providing a curriculum that not only supports academic excellence but also nurtures kind, curious, and globally-minded young people. That’s why we’ve developed the Barwic Curriculum – a unique approach to learning that’s built around the latest research on how children learn best, and tailored to reflect our school's ethos and high aspirations.

A key part of our curriculum is encouraging children to develop a rich understanding of the world beyond their immediate experience. We believe that learning about different countries, cultures, traditions, histories, music, and art helps children grow into respectful, informed individuals with a deep appreciation for diversity.

This approach directly supports the fundamental British Values of mutual respect, tolerance of different cultures and beliefs, and individual liberty. By exploring global perspectives, our pupils begin to understand the importance of living in a diverse and inclusive society.

To bring this to life, we introduced our programme: Barwic Globetrotters.

Every half term, our pupils "travel" to a different part of the world, learning all about the people, landscapes, customs, and stories of that region. Whether it’s discovering traditional music from South America, famous landmarks in Asia, or folktales from Africa, each journey is designed to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning about the world.

Through Barwic Globetrotters, our children are not just learning about other places – they’re developing empathy, open-mindedness, and a sense of connection to the wider world. We can’t wait to see where their learning adventures take them next!
