Spring 2017

Do you dare to be a bear?

As you may already know, we're the bear class and our classroom is called 'The Bear's Den!' We are going to be learning all about our namesakes this half term and we really can't 'bear' to wait!

We begin our learning journey by exploring the small world forest and the bears that might live there. We're also going to become detectives and go exploring to see if we can find any real bears in the school grounds... Miss Dixon swears she once saw one!! We have already started to learn all about the beginning, middle and ends of stories through the traditional tale 'Goldilocks and the three bears' and will be learning the story of 'We're going on a bear hunt' which you may have watched on TV over the Christmas holidays, using Talk 4 Writing. So, if your child comes home reciting the story and showing lots of actions to help them remember it, this is why! If you're not familiar with the story, there is a link to the book's author Michael Rosen performing his much loved story below. Remember to check back here for bear updates over the next few weeks!
