Barwic Parade Community Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team. We are looking for a highly effective and dedicated team player who is driven to support children to achieve their best and who has the skills to bring their upbeat attitude to the classroom. You will have the ability to set high aspirations and become a role model to enthuse and engage your pupils.


In additional to your classroom role you will also lead structured lunchtime play activities for all pupils who are aged between 4 and 11 years of age. We believe that by offering a range of activities, a safe place to play and opportunities open to everyone to try something new we can enrich our pupils’ play experiences. Activities may include games, individual play, drama and singing, alongside other stimulating learning opportunities.


You will be energetic, playful, proactive person who has positive personal presence and a strong work ethic. You must be well organised, be prepared to lead and generate new ideas, and work well with children and adults alike.


We are committed to providing quality personal development opportunities and will fund course and training costs. The successful candidate will be expected to commit to over 60 hours of professional development to further enhance their existing knowledge and understanding of the impact of positive play on children. You must be prepared to be fully first aid trained and deliver appropriate first aid treatment if needed.

This position would suit an inventive and inspirational individual who holds at least NVQ 2 or a Graduate looking to develop their practise before Teacher Training.
