On Monday 17th October 2016, eight Key Stage two children took part in our very first Cross Country competition at Brayton High School. All eight children ran brilliantly for their age group, there was certainly some tough competition there. In order to qualify for the next round of the competition, each child had to finish within the top 10 of their age group.
The following children got through to the next round which will be taking place at Tadcaster Grammar School in Novemeber: Evie Lawrence (Year 3), Caleb Pile (Year 3) and Billy Cranage (Year 6). What a fantastic achievement!
On Wednesday 16th November 2016, Evie, Caleb and Billy took part in the second stage of the Cross Country competition at Tadcaster Grammer School. It was a very cold, wet and windy day and all three children ran their socks off! Within each year group, there was around 50 - 60 children competing, in order to get through to final stage of the competition the children had to finish within the top 8 of their year group. We knew it was going to be a tough competition, but all three children gave it their all and ran like the wind. Evie finishing 36th, Caleb finishing 25th and Billy finishing 17th. A fantastic set of results, considering they were competing against a large number of other children.
