Talk for Writing - Innovate

Still image for this video
Miss Parkhill wanted to share with you all this lovely video. This is Katie in Year 3, who is at the 'Innovate' stage of our Talk for Writing. She has independently changed our poem about the wind to instead describe the Summer. She has even created her own actions and sound effect to go along with her performance. What a Superstar.

Reading

Reading is very important to improving learning outcomes so the children's Planners are checked every morning. All children who read at home will receive a dot on our daily readers chart, with children working towards their bronze, silver and gold reading awards.

To help improve your child's reading speed and understanding, it would be really useful if parents/carers read with your child every night. This could be built into your evening routine and need not take more than 15 minutes of your time.

Children who read often enough to receive the gold award will also be given a new book to keep!

PE

Please ensure your PE kit, with trainers, are in school on Mondays and Thursdays.

Homework

Children also need to be ready to be tested on their times tables. There is a document attached at the bottom of this page to help the children with their times tables.

There is also a link below which takes you to a range of maths games and resources.
