Class Information

Wednesday and Thursday - PE Days.  Please send suitable PE kit (including warm outdoor wear).  This should stay in school throughout the week.

Friday - Maths Skills Check Day. Your child will complete a Maths Skills Check in school.  They will then bring this home to practise the areas they need more work on.

Friday - New spellings are handed out on a Friday following the weekly Spelling Test.   Please practise these at home with your child.

Please read every night at home. Reading is so important and we want everyone to read as much as they can so they can learn as much as they can!  Children who read every day can earn Reading Certificates and even win a book if they win a Gold Certificate! Watch out for more information about further Reading Competitions throughout the year.

In Year 1 and 2, we ask the children to read their reading book 3 times before they change it in school - once for decoding, once for fluency and once for understanding.  The children can also access Bug Club Online at home where there are online books and reading activities.  This website is a great way to support your child's decoding and comprehension skills! Usernames and Passwords should be in Planners.
