Alliteration

Alliteration

The children have been exploring words and names that begin with the same sound. Here are a few of our favourite alliteration games.

Silly Soup

This is just like rhyming silly soup except the objects in this game all began with the same sound. The soup would only taste delicious if all the ingredients started with the same sound. The children enjoyed challenging themselves to find the odd one out: "That doesn't go in the soup, it will taste yucky!"

Toby the Train

Toby is a very busy train. Each day he wakes up to find something blocking is way on the track! The children took turns to find out what is hiding underneath the fabric on the track. At the end of each day we told each other what we had found. The children were excited to find that all the objects began with the same sound!

What's in the Bag?

Hiding in this bag are lots of objects that begin with the same sound. The children took turns to put their hand inside and choose something to look after. We discussed each object, 'What is it?', 'What does it do?', 'What is it for?' etc.
