Barwic Parade Community Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic ‘Thrive’ team. We are looking for a dedicated team player who will support children in the Enhanced Mainstream Provision (EMS) for pupils that experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. The successful candidate will work within the EMS team providing outreach support to pupils in 41 local schools, and in-reach support within the EMS provision. Your own transport is an essential requirement.

The EMS team work collaboratively with schools across North Yorkshire to offer specialist help to some of the most vulnerable pupils in the local area. Many of these pupils are experiencing significant difficulties and often present with challenging and complex emotional, social and mental health difficulties. Experience of working with pupils who present with complex needs will be beneficial but not essential. We pride ourselves on the tailored advice, guidance and support we offer to schools. Our service ensures that all our pupils receive bespoke provision that nurtures confident young learners who can be proud of themselves, and their achievements.

You will be a professional individual who is enthusiastic and committed and ready to become a valued member of our team. You will work closely with our specialist teachers to deliver personalised programmes of support to our pupils.  The ability to be able to develop trusting and respectful relationships with children, that nurtures their self-esteem, is essential.  You will need excellent communication skills and have a calm and understanding manner.

We can offer you a genuine opportunity to develop the specialist skills needed to ensure that children make progress, and achieve their goals.  You will have access to a wide range of CPD opportunities to enhance your skills and be provided with PPA time.

You will have a least a NVQ3 or be a Graduate looking to develop their practise before Teacher Training.
